Great book about slacklining

slacklining bookI recently came across an interesting slacklining book – it`s called "Walk the line", written by Scott Balcom and it covers almost anything connected with slacklining – history of the sport, really comprehensive guide (maybe even too much comprehensive :) ) about setting the line up, even on a flat surface with no trees or other anchor points.

It has also a lot of information for beginners – basic tips how to walk the line and even advanced techniques and tricks. If you are starting slacklining or just thinking about it, I would definitely recommend this book for you – get more information here.

Dean Potter slacklining

dean potter slackliningIf you are experienced slackliner, you have probably heard about Dean Potter. Otherwise, take a look at the picture – impressive, isn`t it? :)

Dean Potter is an American rock climber who is well known for his free solo ascents, base jumping, wingsuit jumping and even base and free solo slacklining. This photo is from his free solo walk in Taft Point, Yosemite – you can read more about it on the prAna blog or see all the photos here.

There is also a video on YouTube:

And if you are also into rock climbing or want see more of Dean`s action, you might want to check the movie The Sharp End when he appears base slacklining and climbing – in my opinion it is the best climbing movie ever made! Just check out the trailer ;)
